WSU Stevens County Extension – Gardening News

Pressure Gauge Testing for Canners Aug 1 & 14 – Canning season is upon us again, which means time to test those pressure canner gauges. We will be at the Chewelah Farmers Market August 1 from 11:00AM-3:00PM. We will be doing gauge testing on-site. All you need to bring is your pressure canner lid with gauge. We cannot test weighted pressure canners or water bathing canners. If you miss us at the Farmers Market in Chewelah, we will have a second gauge testing day August 14 from 10:00AM-12:00PM at the Extension Office in Colville. You can drop your lid off at the office before the testing date if you cannot make it on August 14. For more information, contact Adenea Thompson, Food Safety Coordinator at a.thompson@wsu.edu or 509.684.2588.
