Stevens County Conservation District provides fire safety talk at Evergreen Elementary School in Gifford

The Stevens County Conservation District (SCCD), in partnership with the Colville National Forest and the Three Rivers Ranger District, brought a Fire Safety talk and Smokey Bear to Evergreen Elementary School in Gifford WA on Thursday June 6, 2024. The 37 students learned about ways to practice fire safety at school, at home, and outdoors.


SCCD supports youth and adult education on community wildfire preparedness. Please contact us if you are interested in bringing this program to your school or youth group. SCCD is also currently providing free wildfire ready home visits for Stevens County residents wondering how to better prepare their home for wildfires.
