Loon Lake Elementary school is hosting a new fundraiser this year! Two of the Americorp volunteers have taken it upon themselves to launch this program in order to help get the kids involved while benefiting our local animal sanctuary.
Miss Sammie and Miss Jeanie are challenging each class to collect aluminum cans from March through June.
All of the proceeds will go to the Colville Valley Animal Sanctuary. It will help to pay for everything from their feed to their vet bills.
The Colville Valley Animal Sanctuary focuses not only on the welfare of their animals, but also informing the local residents about the humane treatment of all animals. They shelter, rescue, facilitate spay and neuter as well as pet adoption services and basic pet care such as vaccinations and microchipping.
There are no county or municipal funded shelters serving cats and dogs in Stevens county; therefore, supporting our private owned volunteer organizations are critical.
Bags have already been given to all of the students and the staff for can collection, but if more are needed Miss Jeanie can be reached by email for more.
Drop off locations and times are being offered throughout the fundraiser, they are asking to please make sure your students are not bringing the bags back to school during normal school hours.
Drop off dates are March 31, April 30 and May 21 at 4 p.m.
If you have more questions or need a different drop off date, you can contact Jeanie at jator@loonlakeschool.org
