Friends of Loon Lake Library supported teachers at Loon Lake Elementary and Springdale Elementary by purchasing books for their classrooms through the Scholastic Book Fairs the week of May 6‐10, 2019. Friends asked each teacher at the elementary schools, including the preschools, to select up to $20 worth of books. Because the Book Fairs were both BOGO (buy‐one‐get‐one‐free), teachers were then able to select an additional $20 worth of books ‐ $40 total – for their classroom libraries.
Many teachers expressed their gratitude for this donation from the Friends group. Through community book sales on the first Friday of every month, Friends of Loon Lake Library seeks to promote literacy in our community and provide “extra” at the Loon Lake Library through programs and services. Your donations help to make the difference in our community! June Book Sales will be held at the old Loon Lake Fire Station on Saturday, June 1 (Loonsday!) from 9am‐1pm and Friday, June 7 from 10am‐2pm.
